Pastor Joseph Arou serves as an assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel Tonj and a chaplain in the hospital. He is 53 years old and is married for 34 years to Madeleine Adut and together they have 8 children.
When Ps. Joseph was in his youth he attended a catholic school in Rumbek. and was part of Catholic church all his life until 2021. He realized he was not saved after he joined Calvary and learned about Jesus. Jesus appeared to him in a dream when he was severely sick and Jesus told him he would be healed. And then he was healed. He received Jesus as Savior and his life changed, mostly he used to be angry but now he has peace. He attended chaplain training in 2022 and served as a volunteer in the IDAT Maternal Child Health Hospital. He wanted to share the gospel and see people get saved because he had been saved and his life was changed.
