While he was in Tonj, The IDAT football tournament had started, and One of the IDAT evangelist pastors told John about the Good News of Jesus Christ. That Sunday morning he went to the church to surrender himself to Christ. Today, Ps. John is the Pastor of his village, teaching his people to worship God instead of Idols.

Ps. John Majok serves as pastor for Calvary Chapel Kur-Ageer. He is married and has five children.

John was an idol worshipper before coming to Christ, and on multiple occasions sacrificed cows and goats to false gods as solutions to the village’s problems. However, God got his attention with a disease that his false gods couldn’t heal him from with a sacrifice. Eventually, it got so bad he was forced to come to Tonj to the In Deed and Truth Hospital for treatment. John decided to stay in Tonj after he recovered for work.

While he was in Tonj, The IDAT football tournament had started, and he went to the football field to see watch the game.
One of the IDAT evangelist pastors was preaching the gospel as the game was going on, and John began listening to the Good News of Jesus Christ. He started asking questions about about the gospel and after he was told  the story of Jesus  he immediately requested the pastor to pray for him. he was so happy when he went home and on Sunday morning he went to the church to surrender himself to Christ.

Today, Ps. John is the Pastor of his village, teaching his people to worship God instead of Idols.
