Description
Samuel Chirong serves as senior pastor for Calvary Chapel Wun-Yiik. He is married and has two children.
Samuel was a witchdoctor who had a business providing sacrifices for worshipping images of false gods. One day he fell deathly sick for a month, literally forgetting his own name. His parents took him to other witchdoctors for healing magic, using everything from spells to invocation of spirits. Despite these attempts he was not healed. After he recovered from going to a hospital, he rejected witchcraft to avoid any other problems.
Samuel decided to move from his home town to Tonj, where he began to attend CC Tonj. He eventually requested our pastors for prayer, and he realized Jesus Christ is his Savior, and only He can save lives. He immediately renounced his old life and joined Bible studies where he learned the gospel and embraced his new life as a believer.
Today, Samuel has returned to his home village of Wun-Yiik, with a passion for spreading the gospel among his people. He continues to pray each day for protection against the darkness of witchcraft and idol worship present in his village.
